TikTok Introduces STEM Feed in Myanmar to Enhance Educational Collaboration

TikTok has committed to building an active learning community. The platform constantly explores new ways to help users discover content they love, including educational and knowledge-based topics. Today, TikTok has introduced a new feature, the STEM feed, in Myanmar, aiming to share educational content with users.

The STEM feed is a dedicated space where users can explore educational content related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Over the past three years, nearly 15 million STEM-related videos have been shared globally on TikTok. Whether you’re an aspiring scientist, a tech enthusiast, or someone who enjoys learning, the STEM feed will provide a new way to explore and share knowledge. With a single tap, users can access a variety of trustworthy STEM content from content creators, ranging from math tutorials by teachers to coding tips shared by tech enthusiasts.

The STEM feed is automatically available in most countries, including Myanmar. To access it:

  • Open the TikTok app.
  • Look for the STEM tab next to the For You feed at the top of the screen.
  • Tap STEM to start exploring.

If the STEM feed does not appear automatically, follow these steps:

  • Go to your Profile.
  • Open Settings and Privacy.
  • Select Content & Display and then Content Preferences.
  • Tap STEM feed and select Turn On.

Users can explore exciting STEM content or contribute as creators by following these steps:

  • Create a video on a STEM-related topic of your choice.
  • Produce educational content that answers key questions and provides comprehensive lessons.
  • Follow TikTok’s Community Guidelines, ensuring content is suitable for users aged 13 and above.
  • Avoid making videos aimed at children, such as basic shape or color lessons.
  • Use the hashtag #STEMTok in your posts.

To ensure high-quality and trustworthy STEM content, TikTok has partnered with Common Sense Networks for content safety and The Poynter Institute for fact-checking accuracy. Only videos that pass both assessments will be featured in the STEM feed, offering users reliable educational content.

By collaborating with trusted organizations, TikTok ensures the STEM feed remains a high-quality and credible resource. This initiative also helps promote skilled creators in Myanmar. For example, local creators such as @gold.chemistry and @than.damin are already sharing valuable educational content, making subjects like Grade 12 chemistry easier for students to understand and preparing them for exams. With the introduction of the STEM feed, their content, along with others, will reach and inspire more learners across the country.

Teachers, parents, scientists, and STEM enthusiasts in Myanmar are encouraged to be a part of this exciting initiative. By sharing knowledge and engaging with the #STEMTok community, they can inspire the next generation of innovators. TikTok invites everyone to join this movement to create a more enriching and impactful learning experience on the platform.
