OPPO Unveils the Rugged and Waterproof OPPO A5 Pro with IP69 Protection

Global smartphone leader OPPO has officially launched the OPPO A5 Pro, a rugged smartphone engineered with IP69 water and dust resistance, offering unmatched durability compared to others in its category. Customers purchasing the new device will also enjoy special gifts, including a 180-Day Screen Protection Plan, a rechargeable LED flashlight, and the ATOM package.

Redefining IP Ratings for Smartphones

While most smartphones today come with IP67 or IP68 ratings, the OPPO A5 Pro stands out with its IP68/69 certification, ensuring the highest levels of dust-proofing and water resistance. The IP rating—Ingress Protection—defines resistance to solids (0–6 scale) and liquids (0–9 scale). With an IP69 rating, the A5 Pro withstands high-pressure water jets, immersion, and extreme dust conditions, making it one of the toughest smartphones in its class.

The OPPO A5 Pro has successfully passed 14 rigorous durability tests, earning Military-Grade Shock Resistance certification. Its display is protected by advanced double-tempered glass, providing up to 160% stronger protection compared to standard glass.

Internally, the device is reinforced with aluminium alloy AM04 to safeguard critical components such as the motherboard, camera, motor, speaker, and battery. For added safety, Sponge Bionic Cushioning has been built into the phone’s structure, acting like an airbag to absorb impact and prevent internal damage.
