Myanmar Tech Press (“we”, “us”) has been publishing technology, telecom and startup news about Myanmar since 2017, in Burmese, English and Japanese. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors to our websites, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
It applies to en.myanmartechpress.com, mm.myanmartechpress.com and myanmartechpress.com.
Information we collect
Analytics data
We use Google Analytics to understand how our articles are read โ which pages are visited, how long people stay, roughly where in the world they are, and what kind of device they use. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your IP address and browser type. We use this only in aggregate, to decide what to write about and which older articles to update. We do not use it to identify individual readers.
If you prefer not to be measured at all, Google provides an opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Information you send us
If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, phone number (optional) and message you enter. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you choose to include. We use this only to reply to you and, where relevant, to follow up on a story. We do not sell it, and we do not add it to a marketing list.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard access logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser). These are used for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies and advertising
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them for analytics as described above, and our sites may display advertising served by Google AdSense.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of our sites may not work as intended if you do.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. Information is handled by the service providers we rely on to operate โ our web host, our email provider, and Google (analytics and advertising) โ and is disclosed otherwise only if we are legally required to do so.
Links to other sites
Our articles link to other websites, including official company announcements and other news outlets. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their own policies.
Social media
We publish links to our articles on social platforms. When you interact with us there, that platform’s own privacy policy applies to the data it collects.
Your choices
You can browse our sites without giving us any personal information. If you have contacted us and would like your message and details deleted from our records, write to us and we will do so.
