What can mobile AI actually do differently? Which phone models will get Samsung Galaxy AI features next? What has Samsung set up for people who want to try out Galaxy AI? And is AI really about to become an essential part of the next era of mobile? Carl Nordenberg, VP & Head of Mobile eXperience Business (Southeast Asia and Oceania) at Samsung Electronics, shared his thoughts on these questions and more.
AI is no longer something distant from our everyday lives. Thanks to major advances in technology, we’re now seeing AI built into the smartphones, TVs, and other household devices we use every day.
Samsung is using mobile AI to boost creativity, remove communication barriers, and make everyday life more convenient — leading the way into this new AI era, according to Carl Nordenberg, VP & Head of Mobile eXperience Business (Southeast Asia and Oceania) at Samsung Electronics, who shared the following thoughts.

What can AI help with in everyday life?
Samsung’s Live Translate feature helps people communicate with others who don’t speak the same language. There’s also the generative feature that makes editing photos easy with AI assistance, and Circle to Search, which lets you simply circle an unfamiliar object or place in a photo to easily pull up related information — all features designed to make everyday life more convenient.
Which Galaxy devices will get mobile AI next?
Samsung is working to bring mobile AI features to users across Southeast Asia. Since all Galaxy AI features are being rolled out in the new One UI 6.1, they’ll be available not just on the S24 series, but also on other Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S23 and S22 series, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, and the Galaxy Tab S9 and Galaxy Tab S8 series. That means popular Galaxy AI features like Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and Edit Suggestion will reach even more people around the world.
What’s changing when it comes to language support?
Galaxy AI-enabled devices already support English, Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese, and we’ve now added Bahasa Indonesia, Australian English, and Cantonese in certain markets — making it easier to communicate with people around the world.
Can people try Galaxy AI for themselves?
If you’d like to try Galaxy AI, you can download the Try Galaxy app on your current phone and try out Galaxy AI features like Live Translate, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Photo Assist, Circle to Search, and Samsung Health for free.
Is AI really about to become essential to the next era of mobile?
Given how much potential we’re seeing from combining mobile phones with AI technology to help with everyday life, we’re working to bring the Galaxy AI experience to more than 100 million people worldwide in 2024. As mobile AI features keep expanding what’s possible for communication and creativity, Galaxy AI’s distinctive capabilities will increasingly be within everyone’s reach.
