Apple’s M1 Chip under the theme of “Small chip. Giant leap.”

The M1 chip is Apple’s first chip specifically designed for Macs. It’s a new processor of Apple called Apple Silicon and will be available for MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13”, and Mac mini. Apple’s own Silicon Processor M1 chip will be replaced instead of its current Intel Processors in Macs. The Apple Silicon M1 Chip provides the fastest performance and optimal power efficiency.

In the past, a Mac used multiple chips for the processor, I/O, Security, and Memory to run all the functions. All of these functions are integrated into a System on a Chip (SoC) on the M1 Chip. Also, better features and performance will be provided. The integration of the entire system, including Unified Memory, into the M1 chip, is one of the reasons for the improved Performance and Efficiency.

The 3.5x speed 8-core CPU includes (4) High-Performance Cores and (4) High-efficiency Cores that require only one-tenth of the power consumption. It is the fastest integrated graphics in the world which can get up to 6x faster Graphics Performance. Battery life is greatly improved as it offers the most efficient performance from casual office work to photo/video editing. In addition to image processing and multi-stream 4K video playback, it is an advanced GPU of Apple that can even edit 3D scenes smoothly. The M1 chip will also be 2x faster compared to previous CPU performance.

The M1 chip with 16-core Neural Engine, Machine Learning Accelerators, and high-performance GPU for AI and Machine Learning is up to 15 times faster than ML Performance. The CPU and GPU have also been optimized for machine learning, along with a 16-core Neural Engine capable of performing up to 11 trillion calculations per second.

Apple has also optimized the macOS Big Sur to take full advantage of the M1 Chip which integrates hardware and software optimally. The customers will get the best performance from the apps optimized for the M1, as well as run apps smoothly built for Intel. The ARM architecture of the M1 chip is similar to that of the A / Series chips on the iPhone / iPad, and available to run apps/games for the iPhone / iPad directly on the Mac. Apple has announced that it will switch to Apple Silicon over the entire Mac lineup, including the MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro, over the next two years.

The first M1 chip under the theme of “Small chip. Giant leap.” already has a good reputation for its performance and efficiency and got high interest.
