ATOM’s Heartfelt Donation of Over 120 Million MMK Rebuilds Myitta Oo Yin Youth Development Philanthropic Center for Children in Need
In a heartfelt demonstration of its purpose-driven values, ATOM, Myanmar’s leading 4.5G VoLTE provider, has donated over 120 million MMK toward the construction of a new school building at the Myitta Oo Yin Youth Development Philanthropic Center, located in Myo Hla Township, Bago Region. This contribution, made under the “Advancing Life and Education” pillar of its “ATOM WITH THE HEART” CSR programme, reflects ATOM’s ongoing commitment to empower underserved communities across Myanmar.
Constructed between April and July 2025 and opened on 1 August 2025, the 20 by 60-feet school embodies ATOM’s people-first culture and commitment to creating meaningful impact. The rebuilt school will provide a safe and stable learning environment for 340 children, including infants, school-aged students, and novice monks whose former school was destroyed by recent floods.

Founded in 2013, the school aimed to provide education to vulnerable children within the community. However, following the devastating floods, ATOM extended its purposeful humanitarian support with a contribution to the school rebuilding efforts and marked a significant milestone by delivering a safe environment for the children and the community.
“We see our role not just as a company, but as a contributor to build a more inclusive and uplifted future for Myanmar. We believe education is the foundation for opportunity, and this school stands as a symbol of resilience, access, and hope for the children it serves. While we continue to advance connectivity across Myanmar, we are equally committed to creating a beyond better future for every child, one community at a time,” said Ahmad Abdallah, Chief Executive Officer of ATOM.

The school will be guided by a resident monk, Sayadaw Venerable A Shin Wi Ma La, and supported by six in-house teachers, who will work together to provide education to children. Beyond academics, the school will offer a nurturing environment that fosters spiritual guidance, emotional well-being, and a sense of community, especially for children who have experienced displacement and hardship.
“We have witnessed the eagerness of these children to learn, even amid financial hardship and uncertainty,” said U Thein Hoke, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of ATOM. “This project is more than just rebuilding a school; it is about restoring access to education and a sense of stability and belonging. By supporting schools with essential infrastructure, we are enhancing the quality of education in under-resourced communities. This is how our people-first culture drives us to create meaningful and lasting impact across Myanmar”.

“Living out of a small hut came with many challenges. Now, the new building has lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. It gives both the children and us a safe, supportive space to live and grow. We’re deeply grateful for ATOM’s generous contribution, and we believe the good deeds done here will continue to bear fruit,” said Sayadaw Venerable A Shin Wi Ma La.
Through this initiative, ATOM continues to support educational development by enhancing school facilities and infrastructure in underserved areas. To date, ATOM has contributed over 7.3 billion to various CSR projects, focusing on key important sectors such as education, health care, and digital education, positively impacting nearly 1 million individuals across Myanmar.
