HUAWEI MateBook D, a Smart Companion for Schools and Business
HUAWEI MateBook D14 and D15, designed for today’s youth, are being introduced. The MateBook D series comes with the combination of FullView Display and lightweight design, is powered by HUAWEI Share Feature. This feature will allow you to have unlimited access between smartphones and laptops without boundaries.
The simple yet beautiful and unique design of the MateBook D series body is made up of Metal Chassis which gives a compact and premium feel. MateBook D14 is 15.9mm thick and weighs only 1.38kg which is very light and stylish. MateBook D15 weighs 1.62 kg and has 16.9mm thickness but offers SSD and HDD combo drives usage. The MateBook D14 offers a wider angle of lid opening and has a more flexible display. HUAWEI FullView Display, which is a Signature Design of MateBook, is used in both D14 and D15 models. To make the Display Bezel slim, chic, and secure, the camera is embedded in the keyboard and that design concept can give confidence. In MateBook D15, the display bezel has been reduced to 5.3mm, increasing the screen-to-body ratio up to 87% coverage. The FullView Display also supports a high quality IPS screen of 15.6” panel with 1080p resolution. It has an anti-glare coating and gives a big screen and big viewing experience.

Nevertheless, the FullView Experience will be available for watching movies and both MateBook Ds have 4K outputs which can give a sharp and clear image output even with external monitor or projector. The MateBook D14 has a 4.8mm bezel which is smaller than D15 and 14” FullView Display gives coverage of 84% screen-to-body ratio. The 1080p IPS display screen features anti-glare protection and will give a vivid color for the viewing experience.
Both display panels of MateBook D14 and D15 are TUV Rheinland Certified and thus can filter harmful blue light up to a certain level. Users will be able to work on this screen for long periods of time without worrying about eye-strain.
HUAWEI Share
HUAWEI is building an All-connected world to stay connected with family and colleagues by taking advantage of digital technologies. That’s why the Multi-Screen collaboration has been introduced which allows you to connect two different platforms like smartphones and laptops. MateBook D14 and D15 feature the HUAWEI Share technology and have improved multi-screen experience. With this feature, the smartphone screen can be used simultaneously on both MateBook Ds. Once the smartphone is connected to the laptop, you can drag and drop files at your will. As a result, the file transfer process becomes more complete and much faster than Copy & Paste. In the multitasking aspect, photos, videos, and text files can be edited as you wish and this is much better than using 2 screens. Moreover, computer keyboard and mouse interfaces can be used for both laptops and smartphone which is an improvement in productivity. Android applications such as Video, News, and other Productivity Apps will also be able to switch between smartphone and PC with just one click.

Various Improvements
MateBooK D series comes in two variants; AMD and Intel Laptop. In the AMD version, the Ryzen 5 3500U and Ryzen 7 3700U are used in MateBook D14 and D15. The Ryzen 5 3500U uses the Radeon Vega 8 Graphics while the Ryzen 7 3700U includes Radeon Vega 10 Graphics. These Radeon Vega 8 and Vega 10 GPU are so powerful for daily tasks, and Vega 10 Graphics is powerful enough to handle Photoshop and Premiere applications. Both of the MateBook Ds have dual-channel memory support and PCIe SSD is also installed to give a perfectly smooth performance while multi-tasking or using heavy applications. For those who prefer the Intel Version, you can choose up to the 10th generation of Core i7-10510U processor. Therefore, it has enough multi-tasking power and comes with NVIDIA Geforce MX250 Discrete Graphic Card with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM. As a result, Intel models are more powerful and have sufficient performance for gaming. MateBook D14 contains 56Wh long-lasting battery which can provide 9.4 hours of playback time for 1080p movies after fully charged; Intel Versions last up to 13.2 hours.
