MPT Accepted Nearly 400 interns from 29 Universities For Nationwide Internship Program 2019
MPT’s nationwide internship program 2019 which begins from 6 May to 28 June will be
conducted by MPT’s local experts at MPT’s Head Office and training center as well as state and
regional offices. MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator with over 23
million subscribers today announced that it has accepted 396 final-year students from 29
Technological and Computer Universities who have secured coveted positions as interns. MPT
co-operated together with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Transport and
Communications, the program will be a beneficial opportunity for the students to hone their
development as the country’s next generation of telecommunications leaders.

The students from 17 states and regions, from a total of (253) participating and Yangon, from a
total of (143) participating Technological and Computer Universities, will be given the chance to
tour MPT facilities to gain practical insights on telecommunications operations and undergo
training exercises to receive exposure to industry-relevant knowledge including the management
and maintenance of modern network systems.
This year MPT will accept 15 interns from Yangon have been selected among 143 interns who
participating in Yangon, to continue for more effective program and on-job training at MPT’s
Network Operation Center (NOC) which is located at Alone Township, Yangon.

“MPT Internship Program has launched starting from 2018 and we have accepted altogether
1,300 final-year students from nationwide Technological and Computer Universities and shared
to improve the workplace skills and industrial knowledge. This year also we are very delighted to
give internship opportunities for university students through our internship program that will
gain more practical skills and academic experience with real workplace insights toward their
bright careers. Through this program,15 interns will work alongside MPT’s experienced local
and international colleagues on on-going projects, across a variety of functions at MPT’s
Network Operation Center (NOC). Proudly would like to congratulate all the students who have

During the MPT’s Nationwide Internship Program 2019, students will be undertaking
orientation, health, safety and environment (HSE) awareness and information security training,
essential business skills training, and technical training. From there, students will be divided into
smaller groups to do further work relevant to their areas of expertise before final presentation.

“We do always aware of the difference between academic atmosphere and on-ground operation
experiences. This program, empowered as an intern at MPT, help us to achieve practical
experience in subjects that were taught in our university such as Networking, Fixed Line and
Mobile Networks. Deeply thankful to MPT’s Appreciation on technological students like us and
also request to carry these action in next education years. After all of this, it’s worth following
the academic path way because of MPT, Myanmar first leading telecommunication operator”
said Mg Pyae Sone Zaw, a final year student majoring in Electronics Communication of
Technological University (Mandalay).
