MPT Supported Local Communities In Health and Education Sectors Through its Digitalized CSR Initiatives In 2024
As a leading and true local telecom operator in Myanmar, MPT is committed to provide exceptional services to customers nationwide while actively supporting the community in every possible way. MPT has consistently focused its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts on three main pillars of Education, Healthcare, and Business Incubation initiatives within the country supporting youths. Under these initiatives, MPT made impactful contributions across various sectors including its CSR E-Learning Program, Health Education Program, Nationwide Blood Donation Activities, “MPT Green Movement” Nationwide Tree Planting Activities, and rehabilitation efforts for Cyclone Yagi in the year of 2024.
Fostering Digitalized CSR in Education and Health
In alignment with its vision for a digitally empowered society, MPT has focused its CSR efforts on providing accessible, free-of-charge digital platforms that support education and health. Collaborating with renowned partners and furthering its commitment to education, the CSR E-Learning Program has been introduced in 2023. By eliminating barriers to learning, MPT empowers individuals to gain knowledge and skills that drive personal and societal progress. To date, total of over 1,600 students received the necessary skillset in IT, Vocational, Mobile Phone, and Language via MPT’s CSR E-Learning Platform https://csrelearning.mpt.com.mm/ where every MPT users can access and register the program for the learning without any charge.
Collaborating with renowned hospital partners, Ar Yu International Hospital and Pun Hlaing Hospital, MPT has launched a series of Health Education Videos hosted on a free-data website of LoTaYa, aim to disseminate critical health knowledge to communities across Myanmar, ensuring that valuable information reaches even the most underserved populations. A total of 17 video episodes in various health topics can be found at Lotaya and relevant social media channels.
Expanding Reach Through Broader CSR Initiatives
Beyond its digital CSR programs, MPT remains committed to community-oriented initiatives that address pressing social needs. This includes:
- Nationwide Blood Donation Drives: Encouraging collective action by mobilizing employees, customers, and partners to support life-saving blood donation activities. MPT has facilitated the donation of over 12,000 bags of blood from the volunteers individuals with its 8 years of collective efforts.
- Nationwide Tree Planting Campaigns: A long-standing environmental initiative, now in its seventh year, and nearly 20,000 tree saplings have been planted to date which promotes environmental conservation and awareness through extensive tree-planting efforts across the country.
- Disaster Relief Support: In response to the devastation caused by the Yagi storm in September, MPT actively supported flood-affected communities through a comprehensive CSR initiative. This included providing free data and voice services to customers in disaster-affected areas to ensure connectivity during critical times, alongside other targeted relief efforts including provision of food, clothing, medicine and necessary items.
