Telenor encourage the users to register as 40 days left for SIM Registration

As it is 40 days left to register SIM Cards, the operators are encouraging the users to register SIM Card carefully and announced that a user with an Identity card can only use two sim cards.

All mobile subscribers in Myanmar are required to register their SIMs with a verified ID card and hold no more than 2 SIM cards per ID. If users do not register correctly by 30 June, their SIMs will be terminated according to the Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (PTD) directive. Lack of proper registration will lead to termination of SIM, loss of balance, and any associated accounts linking to mobile financial services and social media. Telenor Myanmar strongly encourages all subscribers to check the status of their SIM registration via SMS, Telenor Myanmar website or MyTelenor App, and get registered. Users’ SIM should be linked with their ID’s name and NRIC number, and each user is allowed to hold up to 2 SIM cards per operator.

Various regulations have been enforced in Myanmar over the past six years, and the current directive from PTD mandates that each subscriber should not be allowed to hold more than two registered SIMs per operator. According to the regulation, only NRICs will be accepted as proof of identity for Myanmar citizens, while foreigners can still use a passport.

Telenor Myanmar customers can now check and verify their SIM cards easily and safely from their own mobile devices. Customers can check SIM ownership by dialing *979*3*3# (or) texting “REG” to “500”, self-register on the Telenor Myanmar website, or MyTelenor App. Customers can also visit any Telenor store or retail outlet to get registered free of charge or contact our call center at 979.

In light of the challenging situation across Myanmar as the country fights COVID-19, Telenor Myanmar is continuously running several awareness programs and offering self-help options for SIM registration online. Customers can register using their mobile device, without having to step outside or engage with other people. Registration is free of charge, and upon successful registration, customers will get up to 5GB data or up to 1,000 Ks balance to their account. Photo Source https://web.facebook.com/TelenorMyanmar
