Metro Myanmar is an online marketplace which has helped over 400 client companies to procure

To avail the Ongo digital payment system, shoppers at Metro can use the Ongo mobile
application or Ongo QR card and make fast payments with ease.

‘One of the main aspects of our company is to make digital transitions. Like other international
online shops, Metro doesn’t have an offline shop. Instead, customers will have access to an up-
to-date e-commerce platform from our website. Digital advancement is the driving factor behind
such changes. It’s for our customers, who can choose from over 3000 different kinds of high
quality goods online and get the items delivered in one click. Partnering with Ongo is important
as it allows customers to make fast online transactions for their shopping,’said Jens Michel, CEO
of Metro Myanmar.

With the partnership of Myanmar Oriental Bank Ltd., Ongo Mobile Wallet was officially
introduced in Myanmar in 2017. Since Ongo Mobile Wallet accounts are being regulated by the
Mobile Banking Licence (MBL) from the Central Bank of Myanmar via Myanmar Oriental
Bank, users of Ongo can experience the security of these banks without the need to make a trip
to their respective branches.

‘We are honored to have the German-origin Metro Wholesale partner with Ongo. Their latest
international investment is Myanmar. We hope that as Metro customers make use of our digital
payment system, the company’s digital transition will be accelerated,’ said Allen Gilstrap, CEO
of Ongo.
