Upgrading AGTI institutes from Yangon, Mandalay and Taungyi will be done with the cooperation of Germany.
Not only the buildings but also the study technique and materials will be included in the project.

The government will provide 3.5 billion dollars for this project.
There will be trainings for the instructors here and in Germany as well.

The classes will be reopened in the GTI (Insein) which was closed since 2000.
However, the buildings are still needed to do some maintenance and it will be done very soon.
The classes will start in coming December.
For this year, enrollment limit will be 200 students.
Students who passed Matriculation Exam with science subjects can apply.
Selected candidates will be taught with the advanced technique and study materials in accordance with the curriculum from Universities of Technology.
There will be 5 majors (Civil, EC, EP, IT, MP) to choose.
The course duration will be 3 years and after completing, Certificate of competence will be awarded.

Upgrading AGTI schools helps a lot in human resources during this IT age.
This is the second chance for those students who could not attend Technology Universities due to less mark in Matriculation Exam.
The fact that the outstanding students from this school can continue their study in Technology Universities is also an advantage in the life of the students.
