MPT Successfully Completed its 2024 Nationwide Internship Program for Nealy 200 Students from 21 Technological Universities
As Myanmar’s first and leading telecom operator, MPT not only provides reliable telecommunications services to its customers but also focuses on developing the younger generation in Myanmar. Today, MPT is pleased to announce that it has accepted and provided the practical exercises to nearly 200 final-year students from 21 Technological Universities by bringing them to MPT workplace as part of the 2024 Internship program. This program aims to emphasize the practical application of their university coursework.
The Internship program was conducted across MPT’s offices in 11 States and Regions locations during April, May and June 2024. A total of 191 students participated, receiving training that emphasized telecommunications operations. They underwent training exercises to gain exposure to industry-relevant knowledge, including the management and maintenance of modern network systems, workplace interpersonal skills, environmental health and safety (HSE), and information security.

The program accepted 25 final-year students at the Network Center and MPT Training Center in the Yangon Region, along with 166 students from various other states and regions who have secured coveted position as interns. MPT co-operated together with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Transport and Communications to create a beneficial opportunity for the students to hone their developments as the country’s next generation of telecommunications leaders.

Mr. Naoki Shimane, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of MPT-KSGM JO expressed that “we recognize the crucial role that youth play in national development and are dedicated to enhancing their skill sets. Since 2018, we have launched an internship program aimed at sharing workplace skills and industrial knowledge to students from the Technological and Computer Universities across the country. We believe that our internship program will effectively prepare students for their workplace readiness and increase their exposure to real world.”
