AutoChess MOBA Beta Version Now Released

Among MOBA games in the mobile gaming industry that have been drawing plenty of attention lately is AutoChess MOBA, developed by mobile game studio Dragonest. A big reason MOBA fans are interested is that its map layout, in-game features, items, and heroes closely resemble those of the popular computer game Dota2.

After completing its Alpha Test, a Regional Beta Test launched exclusively for the Philippines on August 11. The released version includes 20 heroes.

More heroes are expected to be added in upcoming patches. Currently, only Ranked Mode and Training Mode are available, but four modes — Ranked, Casual, Training, and Custom — are planned for the future.

The Ranked Mode ranking system is divided into seven tiers: Journeyman, Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, King, and Queen. From Journeyman up to Rook, each tier is further divided into nine sub-ranks (I through IX), while King is divided into King I, King II, and King III. Winning ranked matches earns points that accumulate toward rank promotion. As you rank up, new heroes, skins, Rank Protection Cards, profile avatars, and chests get unlocked. Heroes and their associated skins can’t be purchased directly yet — for now, you can only use what you earn through rank rewards.

Since the in-game system was built to closely resemble Dota2, players are sure to recognize that familiar feel. It includes a text chat box for communicating with teammates, and a player report feature is also available after matches.

Since AutoChess MOBA has only been released for the Philippines, those who don’t want to wait for a Myanmar release can use a Philippines-based VPN to download it via the Google Play Store or TapTap. You’ll need at least 3GB of RAM to play.

Since this is a regional beta test specific to the Philippines, players in Myanmar should expect unstable ping and lag. There are also sure to be bugs. Since it’s still a beta version, accounts used during this period will be reset once the game officially launches globally.
