E-commerce Association of Myanmar (ECAM) now officially introduced

The official introducing event of the E-commerce Association of Myanmar (ECAM) was conducted on 10th March 2020 at Novotel Hotel in Yangon.

“Because we intend to protect the rights of customers and businesses running through the online platform, the government side will be providing full supports for the development of the E-commerce of Myanmar. I’m very proud to participate in this official introducing event of ECAM. There have been increasing numbers of online businesses since recently. Representing and solving problems and difficulties that are experienced by businesspersons or customers from this E-commerce industry are the objectives of our ECAM. The ECAM also aims to formulate negotiations with the government, intercommunication with the public, and expanding public participation in rules and regulations of E-commerce as representing E-commerce businesses,” said U Aye Chan, Chairperson of the ECAM. Photo Source By Myanmar Tech Press

ECAM was firstly introduced in November 2019 at Signature Restaurant with Networking events so that the public can recognize the organization. The ECAM will be standing as a bridge between online businesses and customers in order to develop a secure E-commerce trade.

“ECAM intends for the place. Countries are trying to go to Digital Economy and E-commerce. Meanwhile, we aim to represent the E-commerce Sector in Myanmar since our country doesn’t have an organization to provide the result for E-commerce Sector. And we also aim to develop the E-commerce sector as it is very important,” U Aye Chan continued.

Objectives of ECAM are to uplift electronic economic society of Myanmar by coordinating between businesspersons, government and schools for the well-being of all stakeholders of the ECAM, to scrutinize and recognize Myanma trustworthy labels so that trust can be built between customers and businesses in the ECAM, to resolve tensions emerged within seller-buyer in the ECAM by cooperation with other governmental departments and associations. Photo Source By Myanmar Tech Press

Currently, the ECAM is delivering knowledge in E-commerce development works in regions and rural areas and going to be formulating markets not only for fair market competition but also for businesspersons will be able to make networks within themselves to have cooperation. Furthermore, fake or counterfeit acts that deceive the public and spoiling the public well-being shall be scrutinized by and removed from the association.

E-commerce Association of Myanmar (ECAM) was founded in March 2019, by businesspersons who are running in the E-commerce industry, with aims to exchange advice, information, and technology knowledge, and formulate opinions and analysis of policymakers as well. The association was officially registered at DICA in July 2019. Other objectives of the association include creating a secure place to run E-commerce businesses in Myanmar and to develop E-commerce businesses. ECAM members can learn to update information and events happening in E-commerce industry from seminars and workshops led by the leaders in the E-commerce industry so that they can expand their businesses.
