Gboard testing text-based stickers to use colorful language

Gboard is a Mobile Keyboard Application of Google that supports a variety of languages. The application features Glide Typing which allows you to type faster by sliding your finger from letter to letter, Voice Typing which allow you to dictate text on the go, Handwriting that allows you to write in cursive and printed letters, Emoji Search to find emoji faster, GIFs to search and share, Multilingual Typing that can autocorrect and suggest from any of your enabled languages, next-word prediction as well as Google Translate.

In addition, Gboard is now testing text-based stickers which combine letters and emoji in order to use colorful language. This feature will generate stickers that include letters and different emojis in a variety of ways.

The combined stickers will show if you type “See you soon” followed by a heart emoji. The generated stickers will be shown in the next-word prediction word and you will find different emojis when you click on them. Suggestions appear to be generated for many phrases, but not necessarily all, so you may not always be able to convert exactly the words you were hoping for into a sticker.

The Text-based stickers are being tested in the latest Gboard Beta version and they will still not be available on Stable Version. You can download the Gboard application through the Google Play Store.
