MPT provides essential and necessary communications in the Fight against COVID-19
As Myanmar continues its fight against Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), MPT recently has exponentially extended its commitment to support the essential services and people of Myanmar by offering its advanced technologies and services in various states, regions, and localities. MPT, as the largest and leading local telecom operator, has been continuously contributing to the nationwide efforts in combating COVID-19 including SIM card with data donations for the quarantine people, providing free access to the news and MHOS websites, free call access to spoke person and counseling centers and providing fiber internet access to quarantine centers across various States and Regions. MPT is also providing toll-free phone numbers to departments and medical centers to make a call by the public relating to the information about COVID-19.
Over 15,400 MPT SIM cards have been donated to 6 quarantine centers in Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw, Mon, Tanintharyi, and Kayin States & Divisions to allow those individuals to stay connected with their families and officials. MPT is actively exploring further possibilities to maximize the impact of its efforts and will continue to take additional measures to support the fight against COVID-19.
