UnionPay starts financial educating feature which can be utilized via QR code

UnionPay, a world-leading payment symbol, launched its digital technology ‘Payments and Finance Handbook’ at banks and airlines on June 10, 2019, in order to have more card users in Myanmar.

The new feature of UnionPay for financial assistance known as “UnionPay’s Guide to Making Life Easier: a Payments and Finance Handbook” is now available at banks, Myanmar National Airways (MNA) ticket selling head office, economics schools. The user can download its new feature via Quick Response Code at the selling agents.

Assistant General Manager of UnionPay International Vincent Ling said: “Since most people in Myanmar still use the cash and there are some understanding about digital payment, we’ve found that it is the main barrier in building a society which uses the cashless system. The main purpose of this handbook is to build a society in which cards are used and to build trust between card users, which in turn, leading to a society that uses the cashless system in Myanmar.”
He continued that the handbook which is described in bilingual (Myanmar-English) can be downloaded, for any smartphone, via the QR code. And the persons going to the banks, trips, shopping, and the university students will have “UnionPay’s Guide to Making Life Easier: a Payments and Finance Handbook” application through the QR code. By encouraging others to download the handbook app, a better social life with cashless payment and its many benefits will be achieved.

To use the weblink like UnionPay Payments and Finance Handbook, the camera function of the smartphone or the business used application ‘Lightning QR Scanner’ can be used. Or you can use the smartphone camera on the QR code to scan it. Then, you will see a new format that you can read articles, webpages, photos or links.
The UnionPay users can pay the payment to more than 10 million global sellers including twenty thousands of sellers from a total of 28 countries apart from China via the UnionPay QR Code. The payment system will also soon be in Myanmar.

UnionPay International (UPI) is a subsidiary of global cash payment company UnionPay and it focuses on the global business. A total of 7.5 billion UnionPay cards have been issued in 52 countries with 2.86 million of ATM which is functioning for more than 53.7 billion of global traders. The UnionPay has issued cards in all ten countries in Southeast Asia with ATM and POS. In Myanmar, the UnionPay is working together with AGD, AYA, CB, GTB, KBZ, MAB and MOB for different types of payment services.
