Samsung reveals the Triple-Folding Smartphone Galaxy Z TriFold

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Z TriFold, a triple-folding smartphone that goes beyond foldable devices like the Z Flip or Z Fold. With more innovative technology, the Galaxy Z TriFold, which can be triple-folded, has already been launched by Samsung starting in South Korea. The introduced Galaxy Z TriFold features a massive 10-inch tablet-style screen that can be folded, and on the outside, it also includes a single screen for use like a regular smartphone.

Samsung has carefully detailed the Armor FlexHinge Design used in the Galaxy Z TriFold, and you’ll notice a slight difference in the size of the two folding points for the three phone screens. The middle screen is 4.2 mm thick, while the two side screens are a few millimeters thinner. These differences are designed to precisely balance the phone’s size and weight when folded.

Huawei’s introduced Mate XT Tri-Fold triple-folding smartphone is popular on the internet, but it’s not available for purchase in the Western smartphone market. Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to be available in the US in the early part of 2026. At first glance, the Huawei Mate XT Tri-Fold and Galaxy Z TriFold may look similar, but their three folding screens differ. The Mate XT uses a Z-style fold where the main smartphone screen serves as the cover display. In the Galaxy Z TriFold, the two side screens fold inward to the main cover screen. Samsung says this design has been tested for long-term durability.

Although it’s a foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold resembles a tablet that can be folded and carried in a pocket more than anything. When folded, its thickness is 12.9mm, making it thicker than the 8.9mm Galaxy Z Fold 7. As a cover screen, it has a 6.5-inch, 1080p display. It’s slightly smaller than the Z Fold 7 but still on the heavier side for a phone. The 10-inch screen uses a 2160×1584 pixel, 120Hz Foldable OLED. Apps can be used side-by-side in portrait orientation simultaneously, and it also enables a PC-like interface without needing an extra monitor. The camera, it uses a 200MP sensor along with a 12MP ultrawide and 10MP 3x telephoto.
