Ooredoo Myanmar has launched its Internship Program 2024, aimed at giving promising young people from across Myanmar hands-on work experience and grooming them as future leaders in the telecom industry. Interested youth can apply to work in Ooredoo Myanmar’s major departments, including Technology, Sales and Distribution, Finance, Customer Service, Business-to-Business (B2B), Marketing, Digital, and Corporate Communications. From there, qualified interns can move on to the Apprenticeship program and go on to sign a one-year contract to continue working with the company.
Beyond gaining invaluable work experience through Ooredoo Myanmar’s three-month internship program, interns can go on to apply for the one-year Apprenticeship program, further sharpening their professional skills, with the chance to eventually apply for a permanent position at Ooredoo Myanmar. Ooredoo Myanmar’s Internship Program 2023 last year drew more than 860 applicants nationwide, and after a thorough screening process based on set criteria, 39 were selected for the three-month internship. Of those, 26 went on to join the one-year Apprenticeship program, with the option to extend for another year based on performance. In their second year, they become eligible to apply for a permanent position in their chosen field.
“Ooredoo Myanmar’s Internship Program, together with the Apprenticeship program that follows it, is part of our effort to nurture and train the young people of Myanmar who will shape the future of the telecom industry,” said Mr. Jeremiah Ratadhi, Chief Human Resources Officer of Ooredoo Myanmar. “Unlike a typical internship program, it not only gives motivated young people real work experience, but also includes a follow-on apprenticeship to keep building their professional skills and open up ongoing career opportunities.” Mr. Jeremiah added, “We believe this program offers strong potential for a new generation of leaders to emerge, while helping to build a skilled, high-performing workforce that supports the growth of the telecom industry.”

Applications for the Internship Program 2024 will be accepted until June 21, 2024, with selected candidates starting the three-month internship in August. Eligibility requirements for the Internship Program 2024
To apply for an internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be Myanmar citizens.
- Applicants must be recent graduates or final-year students with a GPA of 3.5 or above, or an academic score of 80% or higher.
- Applicants must be under 25 years old at the start of the program.
- Applicants must be genuinely interested in pursuing a career in telecommunications.
- Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills, a sense of responsibility, and leadership potential.
- Applicants must be able to work well in a team.
- Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Ooredoo Myanmar’s Internship Program is a three-month program designed to give young people valuable opportunities to gain work experience, build their skills, and form professional connections within their field. Through the program, Ooredoo Myanmar equips interns with a solid foundation in how telecom operations work, combining on-the-job training, classroom sessions, and mentorship and guidance. As of 2023, Ooredoo Myanmar has run three internship programs to give young people hands-on experience in the fields they’re passionate about.
