40 Winners Announced as Ooredoo Myanmar’s Tech Age Girls 2023-2024 Program Completes Its Training

Ooredoo Myanmar has announced the 40 winners of the community development project presentations that marked the successful completion of training for the Tech Age Girls Myanmar Program 2023-2024.

The Tech Age Girls Myanmar Program 2023-2024 saw 250 trainees take part. In the program’s first and second phases, participants received training designed to build digital and leadership skills, including computer and ICT education, project planning and management, and innovative, creative, and logical thinking. After completing the training, the young women applied the technical and leadership skills they had learned to present community development projects tailored to the needs of their own communities. Winners were chosen based on their project presentations and their ability to actually carry their projects out. Judging criteria included how well each project addressed the needs of its community, collaboration with partner organizations, use of technology, presentation style, and creativity.

Ooredoo Myanmar awarded every winner a laptop and a cash prize of MMK 300,000 each, to be used toward carrying out their community-benefit projects. The 40 winners will also attend the program’s final stage, the Leadership Summit, where they will receive the guidance, technical support, and funding needed to implement the community projects they proposed.

We’ve also seen these 40 award-winning young women put technology to excellent use for community development. Congratulations to all the winning trainees. We believe that by applying the digital and leadership skills they’ve learned, these young women will bring about meaningful change — not only for their own lives, but for the development of their communities.”

The Leadership Summit for the Tech Age Girls Myanmar Program 2023-2024 runs from May 13 to June 2, 2024. The Summit covers topics including talks on women’s leadership development and career opportunities, panel discussions on women’s entrepreneurship, effective business communication, and women’s rights.

The Tech Age Girls program runs for roughly a year and aims to nurture a generation of women equipped with technology and leadership skills for today’s digital age.

Ooredoo Myanmar fully supports the organization of the Tech Age Girls Myanmar Program 2023-2024 and has partnered with the Succor Foundation to deliver the training.
