ATOM, the provider of Myanmar’s best 4.5G VoLTE service, marked exactly two years in business on June 8, 2024. Staying true to its commitment to digital innovation, ATOM carried out 5G mobile internet network trials to usher in a new era of modern technology. Under the banner “ATOM’s World of Gratitude,” ATOM is also rolling out a wide range of activities to thank its customers, partners, and communities.

ATOM successfully trials 5G internet networks in two major cities
True to its “Beyond Better” promise to deliver the best connectivity and service experiences, ATOM is upgrading its network to 5G technology to pave the way for new digital services in Myanmar. On June 8, 2024, ATOM successfully trialed its 5G mobile network in Yangon and Mandalay. ATOM partnered with Huawei for the Yangon trial and with ZTE for the Mandalay trial.
Compared to today’s 4G networks, the 5G trial network showed internet speeds up to ten times faster, with signal quality strong enough to transfer data at speeds exceeding 1 gigabit per second (1 Gbps). This paves the way for much faster downloads, smoother video streaming, and support for the latest applications across every field.

“We couldn’t be prouder of everything ATOM has achieved over the past two years,” said Mr. Muhammad Ziaullah Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer of ATOM. “This 5G network trial is a significant step for us in showing just how much modern technology can benefit Myanmar. It’s a balanced effort in line with ATOM’s mission to shape the best possible digital future for Myanmar and act as a bridge across the digital divide.”

A range of activities under “ATOM’s World of Gratitude” to mark ATOM’s second anniversary
Alongside its commitment to advancing technology, ATOM happily celebrated its two-year business anniversary by giving back to its partner organizations through a series of activities, including:
Customer appreciation programs — Throughout June and July 2024, ATOM is running special gifts, bonus point rewards, and cashback offers for its customers. As part of these programs, from June 7 to July 31, 2024, customers who purchase any ATOM package worth 2,999 Kyats or more through any channel of their choice will earn double ATOM Star Points, along with a chance to win a brand-new EV car.
Community support activities — On June 7, 2024, ATOM volunteers and members of the management team visited Aung Thu Kha Charity and Monastic Education School in Taw Kay village, Kwan Chan Kone township, Yangon, donating school supplies worth a total of 100 lakh Kyats — including stationery, T-shirts, umbrellas, and hats — for the children, and joined them in a lively entertainment program. ATOM will also provide healthcare support for elderly residents at a nursing home in June 2024.
