Printers that can print a photo of your choice right onto your cup of coffee are starting to catch on in major countries. Taking a selfie right before your coffee arrives and then getting to drink it with your own face printed on the foam sounds like a pretty fun little moment — and it’s exactly the kind of thing young people are bound to love. Here’s more on this coffee-printing machine.
Selfie fans in the UK can now try out a service that turns the foam on top of your coffee into a print of your own selfie — or really, any photo you like, not just selfies.
The machine costs £1,100 — roughly 1.9 million kyats. It can prepare cappuccinos and lattes, and printing your selfie onto the coffee is as simple as pressing a single button. The machine combines 3D printing with an inkjet system and was created by a company called Ripples.
The coffee printer is already being trial-run at Wimbledon and for Lufthansa airline passengers. Coffee featuring your own selfie is also being sold in the U.S., South Korea, China, Singapore, and Israel.
Customers need to install the app from Google Play or the App Store, then send their photo from the app to the coffee machine. About 10 seconds later, you’ll have your own selfie-topped cup of coffee ready to drink.
