KBZ Bank Supports the ‘Stop COVID-19 Yellow Campaign’

KBZ Bank is supporting the ‘Stop COVID-19 Yellow Campaign’ initiated by the Yangon Regional Government and the Yangon Region Health Department to raise public awareness about wearing masks, washing hands regularly, and practicing social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The ‘Stop COVID-19 Yellow Campaign’ was initiated in December 2020 with the theme of “New Normal, New Living and New Yangon”. The color yellow is used for the campaign to capture the attention of people and encourage them to read the posters which have been placed in public areas with high foot traffic such as bus stops, ferry terminals, hospitals, hotels, and bank branches. Photo Source https://www.kbzbank.com

As part of the campaign, KBZ Bank will put up the campaign posters at its branches across Yangon and distribute pamphlets to encourage customers to adhere to best practices in keeping safe from COVID-19. The posters will also be placed at KBZ Bank’s ATMs which are accessed by 75,000 customers daily. In addition, the Bank will utilize SMS and push notifications to share information with its 7.5 million KBZPay customers and 780,000 KBZ mBanking customers. Content and updates about observing COVID-19 prevention measures will also be shared on KBZ Bank’s social media channels.

Said U Soe Ko Ko, Value Center General Manager, KBZ Bank, “The fight against COVID-19 requires a collective effort and KBZ Bank is glad to do its part in promoting the ‘Stop COVID-19 Yellow Campaign’. Through our efforts, we will encourage millions of our customers and the wider public not to let their guard down when it comes to protecting themselves and others from the pandemic.”

Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in Myanmar, KBZ Bank has proactively implemented safety measures in line with the guidelines of MOHS to protect the health and safety of its customers and employees. The Bank also adapted its branch operations in order to continue helping customers with their everyday banking needs. While many customers have been quick to embrace the shift toward a digital economy, others continue to rely on bank branch services.

With this in mind and considering the importance of physical banking to the economic health of the nation, KBZ Bank implemented a wide-ranging set of COVID-19 safeguarding measures at bank branches across the country. Photo Source https://www.kbzbank.com

“We commenced preparations for COVID-19 at the beginning of March 2020, and as the pandemic continued to evolve, we have taken further steps to maintain the safety of our customers, employees, and the community. Although we strongly encourage the use of our mobile banking and KBZPay apps to minimize the chances of virus transmission, we also understand that not everyone can access these services and that some customers need to make a physical trip to the bank”, added U Soe Ko Ko.

COVID-19 has accelerated the shift to a digital economy, by fundamentally changing the way people in Myanmar banks, shop, and make payments. KBZ Bank is embracing this change and is encouraging customers to explore contact-free digital banking services, including ATMs, the KBZPay mobile wallet, KBZ iBanking, and mBanking to safely manage their finances without needing to visit a branch.

As of 14 January 2021, KBZ Bank is operating 122 branches in Yangon and continues to operate all other branches nationwide to serve customers. These branches are open from 9:30 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday.
