MPT Supports Ministry of Education by Offering Free Data Access to Myanmar Digital Education Platform

MPT will extend its support to the Ministry of Education by offering 6-Month free data access to the Myanmar Digital Education Platform (MDEP), a special web-based training platform for teachers from across the nation.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, draconian measures have been put in place in Myanmar to stop the spread of the virus across the nation and like many other countries across the world, the education sector in Myanmar has been greatly impacted by this with the closing of schools nationwide as a precautionary measure. Photo Source https://www.mpt.com.mm

Ministry of Education (MOE) has a mandate to significantly and rapidly improve Myanmar’s education system and fundamental curriculum changes are being made for every grade within the Basic Education System with changes to Grades 4, 7, and 10 are planned for 2020-21 School Year.

As new curriculums are scheduled to be implemented, basic education teachers across Myanmar were initially scheduled to go through a rigorous training regime during the summer holiday period. However, the COVID-19 outbreak has derailed this program as physical training programs are not permitted and instead teachers will be able to learn remotely via Myanmar Digital Education Platform (MDEP), the state-of-the-art online training program developed by Ministry of Education. Photo Source https://www.mpt.com.mm

MPT is strongly dedicated to its mission of “Keeping Myanmar Connected” with the need for remote learning becoming more critical than ever, MPT is providing 6-month free data access to MDEP Website (http://mdep.moe.edu.mm) for teachers nationwide to continue with their training programs remotely starting June 10, 2020.

“Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and with schools closed for an extended period, we have to come up with a system to facilitate the continuation of learning with the use of remote learning platforms like Myanmar Digital Education Platform (MDEP) implemented by the Ministry of Education. We understand the role education plays for our future generations and the importance of their educators and that’s why we are supporting teachers nationwide, who are staying home due to COVID-19, by providing free data access to the MDEP website for six months. Teachers can utilize this unique learning opportunity to overcome barriers with efficient knowledge transfer before the start of the new school year.” said U Ko Ko Aung, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM JO. Photo Source https://www.mpt.com.mm
