Mytel has officially introduced the “Empower My Children” foundation to the public, an initiative set up to support the wellbeing of children across Myanmar.
The official launch of the “Empower My Children” foundation is meant to give Mytel users nationwide a way to take part together in an effort to bring about positive change by supporting the lives of the young children who will grow up to be Myanmar’s future leaders.

“Giving back to the community, in whatever way we’re able, is one of Mytel’s core values, which is why we’ve set up this social-benefit foundation and have been continuously working to help make life better for children across Myanmar. Through this foundation, we at Mytel hope to do as much as we can to fill the gaps in what these children need, supporting them from every angle. The foundation will provide children with the support they need in education and healthcare, with the aim of giving these children a brighter, better future,” said Dr. Daw Nilar Aye, Chief External Relations Officer of Mytel Myanmar.
Mytel officially launched the “Empower My Children” foundation on June 5, 2020, to mark the company’s second anniversary. “Empower My Children” is the first philanthropic foundation of its kind established by a telecom operator in Myanmar. Working together with Yankin Children’s Hospital, the foundation has provided the necessary funding for children born with congenital heart disease from financially struggling families to receive surgery. Since the foundation was launched, Mytel has funded surgical treatment for 34 children born with congenital heart disease.
