Spotify’s annual Wrapped feature, which it rolls out every year as the calendar winds down, has now arrived to bid farewell to 2024. Spotify Wrapped compiles a summary of what users listened to over the year, including their top genres, favorite artists, number of songs played, and total minutes listened. Alongside this personalized summary, Spotify’s 2024 Wrapped also introduces an AI-powered podcast created using Notebook LM, Google’s AI summarization tool. Another new addition this year is “Your Music Evolution,” a data story that shows how a user’s musical interests and genre preferences have shifted over the past year.

Powered by Google’s Gemini AI and Notebook LM, this year’s Spotify Wrapped includes a Personalized Audio Overview featuring the songs, artists, and genres users listened to most in 2024. Spotify has packaged this Wrapped experience as a podcast-style personalized audio segment. According to Spotify, the company partnered with Google to build this new Wrapped feature because of strong user interest in AI technology.
Opening the Wrapped “podcast” from the Spotify app’s home screen lets users hear an AI host summarize their listening activity for the year. The AI-generated audio clip can be saved to a user’s mobile device or shared on social media. This feature is reportedly available to both free and paid users, though only for a limited time.
In 2024, Spotify also added a feature allowing users to share songs directly to TikTok Feed and TikTok Stories, reflecting its continued push toward deeper social media integration — likely intended, in part, to make it easier to share this new Personalized AI Audio Experience on social platforms as well.
A new AI feature available to Premium subscribers reportedly lets users type a prompt to generate an AI playlist based on their Wrapped experience — for example, requesting a playlist featuring songs from their top 5 Wrapped artists.
That said, Spotify’s Wrapped this year did not include as many personalized data stories as in previous years. In the past, Spotify has prioritized fun, viral features such as assigning users a “Music Personality,” matching them with others who share similar musical tastes, and determining their “Audio Aura.”
