Study sessions geeks gather in Yangon “GEEKS YANGON MONTHLY MEETUP”

The group of volunteers named Geeks Yangon has a tech series study meeting named “Geeks Yangon Monthly Meetup” once a month.
It was held on June 27, 2017, and I participated.
Most of the participants are Westerners and Myanmar people, and there were a few people from other Asian countries.

The first presentation was “Setting Up Your Development Environment” by Mr.Jason Brown.
He talked about the development environment, for example about Docker, vagrant, git and so on.

The second presentation was “GIT: The Basics” by MrLaurent Savaete. His presentation related to git as the title, and it was easy to understand for git beginners such as the introduction of git command.

The third presentation is “The tech behind Mr Finance” by Mr. Johnny Knox.
I was not able to hear much while talking with other people in the first half, but I think that the topic about chatbot was the main story.
A service called chatfuel was introduced.
I was ignorant about chatbot, so I learned a lot.

Since professional developers give presentations, you can hear about the latest technology and you can also ask questions so you can learn what you want to know rather than watching videos, articles on the internet or going to school.

As the name suggests, “Geeks Yangon Monthly Meetup” is held about once a month and I think that the contents of the presentation will be made public on the Facebook page beforehand, if you are interested in the contents of the presentation, why not try participating in those who work on tech.

The presentation will be spoken in English and the conversation with those who participated will basically be talked in English, it was a bit tough for me not to be good at English, but it is an event for the geeks who understand English in Yangon to check.
