Wave Money Mobile Transition Service increases its daily transfer rate

According to the directive of the Central Bank of Myanmar, the customer can transfer up to a maximum of 1,000,000 kyats per day to anyone in the nearest authorized wave shop. The directive tends to reduce the number of money users nationwide. The transfer rate is inclusive from 25th March 2020 to 30th April 2020.

Wave Money is one of the tops of Mobile Financial Services Institutions in Myanmar. During 2020, it is transferred 850 billion kyats in February and it can be nearly one trillion kyats from Wave money Platform in March. Brad Jones, the chief executive officer of Wave Money said “Wave Money is significant for the grassroots. So, wave money will continue to provide excellent services to the wave money user and we are grateful to the Central Bank of Myanmar. It’s supporting our goals by increasing the amount of money transfer.”

Through Wave Money Mobile Financial Service, thousands of users are making transactions daily at any time with the help of 57,000 Wave Agents across Myanmar. Wave money is a joint venture between YOMA Bank and Telenor, the world’s largest telecom operator. Telenor users can download the Wave Money App from the Play Store and easily create the wave money account at any time. The user can make the transition with a mobile phone anywhere. Non-Telenor users can transfer money through the nearest Wave shop.

When transferring money from the wave agent, the phone numbers, and identity numbers of transfer and receiver will be needed. The amount of money and the six-digit code will also be needed to mention. The service charge depends on the amount of money. Thus, both Wave money user and non-user can transfer money. Both the transferor and receiver will receive a receipt SMS after the transition. The receiver needs to tell the six-digit code to the agent and take out money from the nearest Wav agent.
