KBZ Bank Hosts Second KBZPay Ecosystem Summit, Showcasing Innovative Mini Apps Capabilities for Businesses to Achieve Growth

KBZ Bank, Myanmar’s largest private bank and operator of KBZPay, the country’s leading mobile wallet, hosted the second KBZPay Ecosystem Summit on 10 December 2024, at the Wyndham Grand Yangon Hotel. The summit brought together more than 300 key stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, merchants, developers and KBZPay representatives to explore new opportunities within the KBZPay ecosystem.

The summit is part of a series of events held by KBZ Bank to encourage businesses to leverage the power of the KBZPay Mini App solution, which are mini-applications (or in-app e-commerce stores) embedded within the KBZPay ecosystem that serve as a gateway for merchants to connect seamlessly with millions of KBZPay customers.

Building on the success of the first KBZPay Ecosystem Summit in March 2024, this second event highlighted KBZPay’s expanding ecosystem capabilities and new features, success stories from KBZPay Mini App merchants, and innovative solutions for overcoming business challenges.

In his opening remarks, U Zaw Lin Aung, CEO of KBZ Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to driving financial inclusion and innovation, as well as shaping the future of digital Myanmar through collaboration.

Daw Ei Thanda Hlaing, Senior General Manager of KBZPay, presented updates on the new KBZPay ecosystem capabilities, including Mini App templates designed for retail and F&B businesses. These templates make it easier for businesses to quickly start operating within the KBZPay ecosystem without the need for significant investment or app development from scratch. By offering pre-designed solutions tailored to specific industries, KBZPay lowers the barrier for businesses to go digital.

The summit also featured real-world success stories from successful Mini App merchants, such as Prince Hotel, Watch by Cherry Oo, and Min Thein Kha, who shared how KBZPay has transformed their customer engagement and business operations. Developers from GMBF also presented insights into leveraging KBZPay’s developer-friendly platform to create scalable solutions for businesses.

The summit concluded with a networking session, where business representatives, developers, and KBZPay leaders exchanged ideas and explored partnerships to accelerate digital transformation.
