MPT has launched a new “Yu Htar DATA” service that lets MPT users conveniently borrow data packages when their data balance unexpectedly runs low. Through this new service, users will be able to enjoy an uninterrupted, seamless online experience without their connected services being cut off. Depending on the amount of credit available to them, MPT users will be able to borrow data packages ranging from 350 MB up to a maximum of 2,160 MB (2 GB). The cost of the borrowed data package plus a service fee will be deducted, in full or in part, the next time the user tops up their phone bill balance. Users must repay their existing loan before they can borrow again through the “Yu Htar DATA” service. Data packages borrowed through “Yu Htar DATA” are valid for 30 days.
All MPT GSM/WCDMA prepaid users can access the “Yu Htar DATA” service by dialing *900#, sending an SMS to 9000, or through the MPT4U app. The borrowed data package can be used across all data services.

MPT users can borrow data package credit multiple times. The maximum amount an individual user can borrow is determined based on the amount and frequency of their MPT phone bill top-ups. Users can check their eligible borrowing amount for the “Yu Htar DATA” service through the MPT4U app.
To borrow a data package through the “Yu Htar DATA” service, users must meet the following conditions:
- Only MPT prepaid users are eligible for this service.
- The MPT SIM card must have been in use for more than 30 days.
- The phone bill must have been topped up at least once within the past 90 days.
- The user must have topped up at least 3,000 kyats within the past 90 days.
- The amount you can borrow will be calculated based on the amount and frequency of your MPT phone bill top-ups.
In addition to introducing the new “Yu Htar DATA” service, MPT users can continue to use the existing “Yu Htar+” service, which lets users borrow balance from MPT by dialing *800#. Through “Yu Htar+”, users can borrow between 800 kyats and 4,500 kyats, depending on their eligible borrowing amount. Credit borrowed through “Yu Htar+” can be used for all MPT services except certain restricted VAS services.
