Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer Surpasses 100 Million Views in 24 Hours

Grand Theft Auto — a series nearly every gamer has hyped up and stayed hooked on since its earliest days — has now officially introduced the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, after a substantial leak forced Rockstar Games’ hand. It’s nothing new for GTA titles to leak before release, and this time was no different: after a copy of the GTA VI trailer leaked online, Rockstar Games released the official version earlier than planned.

Since the trailer had also leaked on the X platform, Rockstar Games published the real trailer on YouTube and urged fans to watch it there instead.

The Grand Theft Auto VI Official Trailer, released by Rockstar Games on YouTube on Tuesday, 5 December, was watched by more than 100 million viewers within 24 hours by eagerly waiting gamers. View counts have kept climbing ever since, and since the moment it was uploaded, it has held the #1 Trending spot as one of the most-viewed non-music videos ever. It also broke the previous 24-hour record of 46 million views set by Mr. Beast back in August.

The game trailer is set in Grand Theft Auto VI’s Miami-inspired location, and the game’s release is listed as 2025. Since Rockstar Games labelled it “Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1” on its YouTube channel, fans should keep an eye out for further trailers to come.
