Bay Kin application to ensure safety for teens
The saying ‘better safe than sorry’ is apt for the tragic state that Myanmar is facing today. In order to help avoid all forms of harm, 360ed launched an application called Bay Kin. Along with some comic strips, they showcased the application at the Pan Pacific Hotel Ballroom, Yangon in June.

Designed specifically for teenagers, the Bay Kin app and Bay Kin comic strips share the dos and don’ts of safety and sex education.Sponsored by SPRING Accelerator, the Bay Kin app targets youth safety.

The app includes educational games and incorporates Augmented Reality technology. Apart from being a more interesting medium for both educators and learners, apps such as Bay Kin encourage the imagination and better learning methodologies.

When it comes to sex education in Myanmar, the topic is considered taboo and therefore sex education has been almost non-existent. Nowadays, mobile applications can help to educate teenagers. There are some who may not have been informed about puberty by their parents. Lack of awareness in this matter may be dangerous for teenagers.
