Given how many people currently use Facebook, we’re sharing the resources below that can help everyone easily access information related to mental health.
As of today, Facebook has connected more than 23 million Facebook users worldwide to resources from expert mental health organizations through its Emotional Health Hub. This Emotional Health Hub brings together guidance from mental health resources around the world, organized by topic, to help people work through issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, emotional difficulties, grief, and loss.

Connection is at the heart of the Facebook platform, and these meaningful connections are also a key ingredient of wellbeing. Many of Facebook’s features are designed to help people build stronger relationships and communities. Our team works systematically with product teams across Facebook, as well as with outside mental health experts, to research and refine our various technology products so they can be used in the best possible way.

Finally, thanks to the tools introduced within the app in recent years with a focus on people’s wellbeing, users of the Facebook platform can now manage their usage experience as they see fit.
(1) Usage Controls
The Facebook app includes a chart showing how much time you’ve spent using it over the past week, customizable daily usage time reminders, and notification settings that let you limit how many notifications you receive.
(2) Snoozing and Unfollowing
This helps you temporarily hide a page, group, or person so you no longer see their posts.
(3) News Feed and Priority Ads
This helps you control how much you see or don’t see ads related to certain friends and family, when you want to see more or less of them.
(4) Hidden Words on Instagram
Offensive words, phrases, and emoji are automatically detected and moved into a hidden folder, so you’ll never have to see them. This also filters out unsolicited direct message requests that could be spam.
