Getty Images, the well-known stock media company, is widely recognized as a platform where users can easily find high-quality photos in one place. As part of upgrading its platform for the AI era, Getty Images has introduced an AI model trained on the iStock photo and video library available on the Getty platform. Notably, the images and videos generated by Getty’s AI are reported to be licensable.
The AI service is powered in part by Nvidia, and Getty has also said it is designed to protect well-known products, individuals, locations, and other copyrighted material. iStock customers will be able to prompt the AI in up to 75 languages. After generating an image, users can choose whether to make further edits or generate a new one. Getty’s AI service is also expected to be integrated into existing apps and plug-ins via API.
Getty’s new Generative AI service is priced at $15 for every 100 generated images.
“Our main goal with iStock’s Generative AI is to let customers use AI as easily and affordably as possible, with all the creative power they need, without having to worry about legal issues,” said Grant Farhall, Chief Product Officer at iStock.
