Google’s AI assistant, previously known as “Assistant with Bard,” appears to be getting a name change to simply “Bard.” Meanwhile, “Gemini,” the name most recently introduced, seems to be one of the names Google has been considering for the rebrand, though it’s reported that Google hasn’t yet settled on which name to use.

In the beta version of the Google App, what was previously labeled “Assistant with Bard” is now showing up simply as “Gemini.” The AI introduced around October was labeled Assistant with Bard, so it appears that Bard has indeed been rebranded. Since the functionality remains the same, this should also make things convenient for users.

Even the model directly named Bard Advanced back in December has now been renamed Gemini Advanced. Since Google’s digital assistant section now shows Gemini in place of the previous Google Assistant, it’s clear that Bard has indeed been rebranded to Gemini and rolled out under that name.
