KBZ Bank, one of Myanmar’s largest private banks and the operator of KBZPay, the country’s leading mobile wallet, hosted the KBZPay Ecosystem Summit at the Wyndham Grand Yangon Hotel on March 29, 2024. The event brought together more than 100 business owners, entrepreneurs, and tech developers to discuss how digital technology through KBZPay can help drive business growth.
The KBZPay Ecosystem Summit marks the start of an ongoing effort to connect local businesses with Myanmar’s developer community, with similar discussions planned to continue across the country. The summit aimed to help business owners and developers make full use of the capabilities of the KBZPay Mini App solution — lightweight, high-performance mini apps built inside the KBZPay app that make it easy to connect KBZPay’s partner merchants with users.
KBZ Bank, a driving force behind initiatives that strengthen businesses and the national economy, has been focused on building a financial system accessible to everyone through digital payments. In his opening remarks, KBZ Bank Limited CEO U Zaw Lin Aung emphasized the bank’s commitment to advancing Myanmar’s economy through digital systems and building a financial ecosystem that reaches everyone.

Following the CEO’s remarks, KBZ Bank Limited Deputy Managing Director U Soe Ko Ko explained how the KBZPay Mini App solution can help businesses move online and grow. In line with the summit’s theme, “Exploring the Future of Digital Living,” he noted that businesses of all sizes across Myanmar envision KBZPay as a tool for digital commerce that can open up new opportunities and drive business growth.
KBZPay Senior General Manager Daw Ei Thanda Hlaing then shared the distinctive strengths of the KBZPay ecosystem with partner businesses, developers, and users. The summit closed with presentations from existing KBZPay Mini App partners — travel company JJ Express, travel ticketing company Innoveller (MMBusTicket), and telehealth service My-Medicine — who shared their experiences and the results they’ve achieved through their partnerships with KBZPay. Through these success stories, attendees came away with a clearer picture of how businesses can use KBZPay’s Mini App solution to connect with new customers and expand.
