Microsoft acquires Activision Blizzard for nearly $70 billion

Activision is a company that distributes consoles, mobile, and pc games. Also, a company that made the popular Call of Duty game. Microsoft Corp company acquired the Game Developer and Interactive Entertainment Content Publisher, Activision Blizzard Inc. This acquisition will allow players on Microsoft’s mobile, PC, console, and cloud services to support gaming-related content.

Microsoft will acquire Activision Blizzard at a value of $69.7 billion, inclusive of Activision Blizzard’s net cash. Microsoft will become the world’s third-largest gaming company by revenue, behind Tencent and Sony. The planned acquisition included iconic franchises from Activision, Blizzard, and King Studios like Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Candy Crush. The company has studios around the world with nearly 10,000 employees.

The mobile gaming industry is also becoming emerging these days and with nearly 95% of all players globally enjoying games on mobile. Microsoft and Activision Blizzard will now be able to provide better gaming experiences to players using the best technology.
