MPT Planted Over 1,500 Saplings Nationwide Under Its MPT Green Movement Initiative

MPT, Myanmar’s leading telecom operator, successfully carried out a nationwide tree-planting event under its “MPT Green Movement” initiative at 13 locations across the country’s regions and states on June 22, 2024, aimed at making the environment greener.

More than 1,200 MPT staff and volunteers planted over 1,500 trees, including fast-growing shade trees and fruit trees. The trees were specially selected to provide shade for the public in the areas where they were planted, improve air quality, and support environmental conservation. By planting hardy, beneficial trees able to withstand natural conditions, MPT also aims for its efforts to benefit the environment and public health.

Since launching the “MPT Green Movement” nationwide tree-planting initiative, MPT has planted more than 18,500 trees across the country. This latest round added 1,518 new trees to that total. This ongoing effort highlights MPT’s commitment to environmental conservation and climate change mitigation. Reflecting a collective effort to strengthen local ecosystems, the nationwide tree-planting initiative saw broad participation from MPT’s 13 offices across the regions and states.

Looking ahead, true to its “MPT Green Movement” promise, MPT will continue steadily carrying out initiatives that support a greener, more sustainable environment across Myanmar. MPT’s ongoing efforts reflect its environmental responsibility and its desire to build a better world for future generations.
