Samsung’s ‘Love & Care’ CSR Efforts Lauded at Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards 2020

Samsung’s Love & Care program has been recognized for excellence in CSR efforts at the Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards 2020 held on 24 September 2020, clinching the Gold SABRE Award for Cause-Related Marketing in the Engaging Society category.

Organized by PRovoke Media, the annual Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards recognizes top communication campaigns across the Asia Pacific.

Developed by Samsung in the Southeast Asia and Oceania region to be a multi-year and market sustainable community outreach program, “Samsung Love & Care” is aligned to Samsung’s global vision for CSR efforts of Enabling People. Uniquely designed to go beyond one-time monetary or commodity donations, the program leverages Samsung’s resources and technology solutions to address the education divide present in the underprivileged communities in Asia. Photo Source https://www.provokemedia.com/events-awards/sabre-awards/sabre-awards-asiapacific/2020-sabre-asia-pacific-winners

The program has been growing from strength to strength since its launch in 2016 and it has effectively reached out to many pockets of underserved populations found across Asia-Pacific. 2019 was a milestone year for Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania, registering a record increase of over 290% in staff participation and 26 times more beneficiaries being engaged, as compared to 2018.

Across the region, 275 Samsung employees were involved in the CSR program last year, volunteering close to 2,500 hours of their own time and personal resources to give back to their local communities in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia and New Zealand and enriching underprivileged students through either one of these three identified pillars: Talent Sharing, Community Development, and Digitalization of Communities. Photo Source https://www.provokemedia.com/events-awards/sabre-awards/sabre-awards-asiapacific/2020-sabre-asia-pacific-winners

In addition, Samsung Myanmar also donated a Samsung TV, as well as personal sanitary items to the school.
