Snack Film Festival; a Specific Platform for Myanmar Film Buffs
Loka Media 3-ACT and Counseling Corner held an upcoming specific platform for Myanmar Film Buffs on 18th May 2020.
This festival urges to submit the videos about the happenings of the public during the social distancing of COVID-19 with the creation of own ideas. It supports a chance for the film buffs to show their artistic creations to the leader of the film industry. Contestants will also have a chance to learn about the various topics shared by the organizers and the famous persons in the film industry.
Contestants have to submit the video within 7th June 2020. The videos not more than 3 minutes must record only with mobile phones and there is no restriction to age, gender, and religion to the competition. The famous judges: Academy Swe Zin Htike, Professional Photographer and Director Maung Maung Thar Myint, the co-founder of Wathan Film Festival Ko Theik Di, the co-founder of 3-ACT Ma Moe Myat May Zar Chi and the film responsible person of Busan Film Festival Kim Yaung Woo will make judgments to the films and select first 10 nominees. The project charge Ko Aung Pyae Sone said “Stating from April, the responsible persons of government urged the public to stay at home in order to reduce the infection spreads of Corona Virus. When some people can live with family, fortunately, most people cannot and it is really tough to live separately. And to be notified of the effect on these separations, we have decided to create this platform to show the public about their everyday experiences into a video clip as a support for their creations also.”
One of the Judges Academy Swe Zin Htike said “this is not only a competition. We are going to share about the useful and effective topics about the film recording with the contestants. So, this will be a place of learning about the film industry. And I am honored to support the Myanmar Film Industry and also for helping this really important social issue to be more noticeable.”
The purpose of this festival is not only to enhance the filming but also to highlight to the upcoming problems that happened because of quarantine and social distancing and also to share the ways to maintain a healthy mind by using art. The professionals from Counseling Corner will make discussions throughout the festivals for a better knowledge of mental health and more things to be helpful. The detail rules and regulations for Snack Film Festival are as follow:
- The storyline of contestant video must be under the topic of “isolation.”
- The contestant video must be filmed and edited during the Covid-19 period.
- There is no restriction of age to compete. Everyone is allowed.
- It is also allowed to compete with any types of the storyline (eg. Comedy, Romance, Horror, etc.)
- There is no restriction on Video Ratio.
- The video of contestants must record the only records by mobile phones and can edit with computers.
- The contestant video can take only from 1 to 3 minutes.
- The contestants must record and edit the contestant video it’s own.
- The contestants must send the videos from 18th May 2020 to 7th June 2020.
- If the contestant videos involve the creations about politics and religions, child abuse and sexual harassment, and the plots that are not suitable for the public, those contestants will not take into consideration for awards.
- All the actors, dress, preparations, and background music must be associated only with the contestant and if there is any problem with copyright, it is only up to the contestants.
- There would be no consideration for the latecomers and those who do not follow the rules and regulations.
- If there are arguable matters, only the decision of the judges and LOKA Media will take seriously.
The prizes for SNACK FILM FESTIVAL are
- the Judges’ Choice Award (1,000,000 kyats)
- People Choice Award (1,000,000 kyats)
To send the contestant videos-
- The final video you have recorded must put on Google Drive and share and email to snackfilmfestival@gmail.com.
- The Raw Video of nominees must resend to the above email again.
The detail restrictions of competition are –
- Then duration to send the contestant video “from 18th May to 7th”
- The time to announce the nominee “10th”
- The day of online debut for the nominee “13th”
- The duration for the public to vote “from 14th June to 19th”
- The announcing day for winner “21st”
