Starbucks Myanmar Facebook page is a fake page?

Starbucks coffee is a coffee chain with 25,000 stores worldwide and sales are of course the world’s best.
Starbucks has not opened yet in Myanmar, but its popularity seems to be high and there are many people waiting for Myanmar to enter.

Meanwhile, Starbucks Myanmar’s facebook page of Starbucks coffee appeared.
Already “like” has been pressed more than 25,000.

Please look at this image.

This is the first post, the posting date is July 30. Since I am writing this article on August 3, it seems that only four days have passed since the page was created yet. Yet, it is very popular that 25,000 “like” are collected.

There is also a fake facebook page that makes us think McDonald ‘s will be opened in Myanmar before and I have never heard of the news that Starbucks coffee will be opened in Myanmar.
Therefore, I thought that this page was also a similar fake page, but when I look at the post, it is credible and it is rumored that it may be genuine.

For example, this post.

It mentions the location of the store,
1. Sule Outlet
2. Myanmar plaza outlet
3. Junction City Outlet
3. Yaw min Gyi Street Outlet
4. Kan Taw Gyi Outlet
5. People Square Park Outlet

As a place to open stores first, these possibilities are high. By the way, this post already has 2400 “like” pressed, 430 is also shared.

And this Starbucks Myanmar Grand-opening event.

The date of the event is December 12.
It’s four months away, so it’s an exquisite date that makes me think it may be open by then.
Since 542 participants and 3500 “interested” have already been pressed, they may be doing seriously.
So it is becoming impossible to think that it is a fake, so let’s investigate whether it is fake or not.
First of all, since the URL is written in the information on the facebook page, I decided to take a look at the website.

Although I was expecting a bit, I tried to open this URL, but as I thought, I could not see the page. I could not abandon the possibility of creating the page yet so I thought I’d check if the domain is registered. But then I noticed it.

It is written as starbucksmyanmar.mm.com, Myanmar’s domain is “.com.mm”, not “.mm.com”.
Yes, it could be starbucksmyanmar.com. mm, but the domain starbucksmyanmar.mm.com can only exist in the subdomain of mm.com.

So it is almost definite that it is a fake page at this point.

I have already confirmed that the domain of starbucksmyanmar.com.mm has already been registered, so I’m still thinking that the possibility that the clerk just wrote the URL could not be abandoned and it might be genuine. However, I think that it is almost certain that it is fake.
But, if they correctly wrote this URL and had a teaser site, I might have been totally deceived.
(And I think that if it is real it will be starbucks.com.mm rather than starbucksmyanmar.com.mm.
Since starbucks.com.mm has also been registered, there is a high possibility that a real Starbucks is registered. )

Well, it is a surprise that the fact that 25,000 “like” were collected in a short period of 4 days without advertisement, whether it is fake or not fake.
I am also concerned about whether Starbucks coffee will come to Myanmar, but I could not help feeling the possibility of web marketing, especially facebook marketing.
