KBZ Bank, Myanmar’s largest privately-owned bank, announced their new historical record of using

KBZ Pay hit to 1 million times with Banking users within four days of a week.

Within 28th to 31st May 2019, by the encouragement of 18,000 KBZ Bank employees around the

country, KBZ Pay users used this mobile wallet application for many times. In the statement, doing

top up and buying internet data, payment, deposit, transfer, withdraw, payment through QR code at

restaurants, payment at OTC or with Quick Pay for services were included.

That history was made by the encouragement programs to be tasted the benefits of cashless function

to all users around the country to be able to reach out of the branches to handle the challenges of

Myanmar in cash used community, KBZ Bank announced.

After two months of having 1million KBZ Pay users, this record was got and recognized by users’

NRC and personal data with a digital system. The users, within quickly growing KBZ Pay network,

can use it at every (65,000) registered shop owners and agents, were included in the statement.

Lin LinHtike, from Mon State, tried to be reached KBZ Pay’s using times till 1 million and U NyiNyi

Lwin, the owner of U NyiNyi Lwin Store who also gave service on it, was awarded 1,000,000 Kyats

in their KBZ Pay wallets.

Participants and customers at 2019 Duwun Food Carnival Event from 30th to 31st May at People’s

Square, Yangon, played in the main role of this record and total KBZ Pay using times were 13,000

times. In this Duwun Food Carnival with the 1st cashless food market concept, customers could pay

through KBZ Pay to 67 marketers.

Before the event, restaurants/ food vendors and foods & beverage companies had been registered as

KBZ Pay’s agents and vendor owners to be able to analysis daily sells and handle small notes

problems by the members of KBZ Bank. Participants and customers who have not the account yet

also opened their KBZ Pay accounts with their NRC cards during the event.

For the benefits, during the event KBZ Pay users did not have to struggle for pence problem because

they could easily pay by QR-code system in a second, could re-check have used amounts. In this 2-

days event, around 33,800,000 Kyats were paid through KBZ Pay.

“I am really happy with selling through KBZ Pay because no need to refund and collect the cash and I

could emphasize fully in serving to the customers without wasting times in other businesses. After the

shop closed, we didn’t need to collect and count the money, because as we can only see the amount in

the application, the money is already saved in the bank. The food vendors in the event were also really

happy because they didn’t need to handle the cash. And it is the widely useable way in the future,” the

winner of Master Chef Myanmar and the seller at T&G Salad Bar, Tin Tin Oo said.
