ATOM has announced a donation of MMK 53.8 million to provide relief supplies to flood victims in Kayin State and Mon State, after heavy monsoon rains across many parts of Myanmar caused widespread flooding, landslides, and extensive damage.
As a result of the heavy monsoon rains, flood-affected residents in Kayin State and Mon State have had to flee their homes to safety, and local families are facing shortages of food and clean drinking water. ATOM’s donation, focused mainly on basic food supplies, water purification tablets, and oral rehydration salts, is expected to directly benefit around 2,000 households in the flood-affected areas. Specifically, 1,000 households in Bilin Township, Mon State, and 1,000 households in Hpa-An, the main city of Kayin State, will receive ATOM’s support.

ATOM’s local teams in Mon State and Kayin State, together with ATOM employees who traveled from Yangon to volunteer, are coordinating to ensure relief supplies reach those in need quickly and effectively. ATOM continues to monitor the situation and intends to keep providing humanitarian assistance as needed.

Over the one-year period from June 2022 to June 2023, ATOM donated MMK 1.7 billion toward community support initiatives under the three key focus areas of its Corporate Responsibility program: digital transformation of education and healthcare, community and education development, and humanitarian care and assistance.
