ATOM Launches ‘Yaung Pyan Myitta: ATOM’s Goodwill’ Charity Program During Thadingyut

ATOM has launched a series of donation drives and community activities under its “Yaung Pyan Myitta: ATOM’s Goodwill” program, supporting communities in more than 70 townships across Myanmar to mark the Thadingyut festival. As part of ATOM’s ongoing efforts to help improve the lives of people in Myanmar, and in keeping with the cultural tradition of showing loving-kindness toward one another during Thadingyut, these activities began on October 21 and will continue across the country with a series of donations.

ATOM plans to allocate more than 700 million kyats across over 200 activities under the “Yaung Pyan Myitta: ATOM’s Goodwill” program, aiming to benefit more than 200,000 people. This includes donating rice bags and food items to more than 21,000 people across 43 townships nationwide, from October 21 to 28, 2022.

“This is the first Thadingyut festival period that we at ATOM have had the chance to celebrate together with the people of Myanmar, and we wanted to show ATOM’s goodwill by giving back to and uplifting the community in various ways. Through the ‘Yaung Pyan Myitta: ATOM’s Goodwill’ program, we’ve kept our commitment to honor and preserve the deeply rooted values of faith and unity in Myanmar society. We hope this vision of ‘better engagement’ that we’ve shaped will be a meaningful program that brings joy and positivity to many people,” said Muhammad Ziaullah Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer of ATOM.

Beyond donating food, ATOM’s “Yaung Pyan Myitta: ATOM’s Goodwill” program will also include providing stationery and school supplies to orphanages and monastic schools, and donating Pattana (Buddhist scripture) books to pilgrims visiting pagodas — part of a wide range of meaningful giving activities across Myanmar.

“Festival periods like this are a time when we show the goodwill we hold for one another. Our ‘Yaung Pyan Myitta: ATOM’s Goodwill’ activities were organized in that same spirit. At this festive time, on behalf of everyone at ATOM, I wish all the people of Myanmar a blessed and auspicious journey ahead, filled with good deeds and loving-kindness,” said U Win Paing Kyaw, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ATOM.
