Mytel Mobile Legends Myanmar COVID-19 Charity Championship Tournament

Mytel hosted Mobile Legends Myanmar COVID-19 Charity Tournament from March 30 to April 8, 2020. With this championship, Mytel will donate 10,000 USD for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Prevention, Control and Treatment Committee. Through this championship, Mytel intends to invite the eSports community to show their support in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eight top teams – Burmese Ghouls, Onic PH, Yangon Galacticos, Outworld, Claw Esports, Team SMG, Impunity, and Team Reselection were invited to participate as the competition teams of Mobile Legends Myanmar COVID-19 Charity. Among them, Team SMG and Onic PH were international teams from Malaysia and the Philippine. The result of the grand final was that the champion was Onic PH, the second prize from Burmese Ghouls, and third place from Yangon Galacticos.

U Zaw Min Oo, Mytel’s Chief External Relations Officer said, “Mytel uses this entertainment platform to create a space where Myanmar and the international eSports community can express their support for people in the frontline fighting against COVID-19 global pandemic. I am very happy that these eight teams decided to participate in the Charity Championship that Mytel hosted and represent the global eSports community. Thus, Mytel decides to donate 10,000 USD in response to the worldwide pandemic as part of this Championship as well. After the 7-day group stage competition, Yangon Galacticos, Claw eSports, Onic PH, and Burmese Ghouls left to fight for the championship after eliminating their rival teams. This championship has attracted nearly 3,000,000 views on the social platform, each match can reach up to around 48,000 concurrent views.

This championship is under the #TogetherWeFightCovid19 campaign that Mytel pledges to support the government and their customers with the best and full support to overcome all the obstacles and help fight off the global pandemic together.
