Ooredoo Myanmar extends a helping hand with a continous Cyclone Mocha Relief Supports in Rakhine State
Ooredoo Myanmar demonstrates its unwavering commitment to uplifting communities in the aftermath of Cyclone Mocha with its continuous contributions to the communities in need of Rakhine State.
As an ongoing effort, Ooredo Myanmar provided the second batch of essential aids including 2,000 Rice Bags (5 KG), 2,000 Oil Bottles (1.8 Liter), 2,000 Solar Light Buibs (150 Watt) and Roof Shelters to 2,000 households in the Rakhine State, valued at over 140 million MMK.

Since the Cyclone struck, Ooredoo Myanmar has stepped up in responding to the crisis as soon as possible by donating much-needed food packs and electrolyte powders to the cyclone-affected communities in Rakhine State. The collaboration with the esteemed local charitable organization, Shwe Yaung Mitta Foundation, ensured that the aid was delivered effectively and promptly to the people who needed it the most. Initially, 1,500 households in Sittwe and Rahtedaung townships received the essential food supplies.
“We have been standing with people in Rakhine State during this challenging period and are committed to providing the necessary support for their recovery and rebuilding efforts. As a telecommunications operator, we understand the critical role that communication plays in times of crisis, and we have swiftly restored network coverage to keep people connected during these challenging times. In addition, we have also contributed to the people in Rakhine State by providing unlimited free calls, SMS, and data plans since Cyclone Mocha entered till the end of May. We have also delivered much-needed basic food packs to the affected communities in Rakhine State for two times and able to support up to 3,500 households through this initiative. Currently, we are pleased to continue offering a 50% discount on all Ooredoo to Ooredoo calls and data usage in Rakhine State through our pay as You Go Plan until 31st August 2023, to further ease the burdens faced by the affected communities.” said by U Tint Naing Htut, Head of Corporate Communications of Ooredoo Myanmar.

In a gesture of compassion, Ooredoo Myanmar offered unlimited free Ooredoo to Ooredoo calls, SMS, and data plans since the cyclone entered Rakhine State, and this support was extended until the end of 31st May. Additionally, the company donated SIM cards to a local charitable organization, helping them to carry out their relief works effectently.
