Samsung stands as the fifth most innovative and valuable brand in 2020, making it as the only brand from Asia among the top 5

The World’s leading tech giant, Samsung has ranked fifth in both Boston Consulting Group’s 2020 list of the most innovative companies and Brand Finance’s 2020 list of the most valuable brands. Samsung is the only brand from Asia that has made it in the top 5 of both lists published by those reputable global consulting organizations.

Of the 162 companies that have been on BCG’s top 50 list over the past 14 years, nearly 30% appeared just once and 57% appeared three times or fewer while Samsung stands as one of the only 8 companies that have made the list every year. The BCG most innovative companies ranking is based in large part on a survey of 2,500 global innovation executives (63% C level, 37% senior vice-president or vice-president level) who were polled from August 2019 through October 2019. BCG assesses companies’ performance on four dimensions and then takes an average of normalized scores to calculate the overall ranking. Photo Source https://brandfinance.com/knowledge-centre/reports/brand-finance-global-500-2020/

For a second consecutive year, Samsung has also defended its position as the fifth Most Valuable Brand, according to Brand Finance’s Global 500 Index; a leading independent brand valuation consultancy, and it has remained the most valuable B2C brand in Asia. Having increased its revenue by 4% to US$ 94.5 billion in the past year, Samsung has continued to show itself as a powerhouse in the tech industry.

Beating its predicted earnings this year, partially due to the performance of the 5G phones, Samsung is leading the way by owning 54% of the global 5G market. Additionally, with its ability to produce two flagship phones per year, Samsung paves the way for new cutting edge technology, elevating the market each year. This year, Samsung was able to introduce the Samsung Z Flip, the first of its kind and with rumors of future models in the works, gaining a further competitive advantage compared to its competitors. Photo Source https://web.facebook.com/SamsungMyanmar/

According to Brand Finance’s criteria of measuring overall brand value through various factors including, market investment, stakeholder equity, and business performance, Samsung continues to be South Korea’s leading brand and with a AAA- rating, it delivers high-quality devices every year, across various different industries, which is why it is the only non-American brand amongst the five most valuable and innovative brands in the world.
