The Galaxy for the Planet is Samsung’s goal of sustainability change by 2025, which are to innovate and reduce the amount of waste that harms the environment and reduce the use of natural resources, Rules to follow include education and collaboration.

The following steps are being taken to implement the commitments before 2025

(1) Complete the elimination of all plastic packaging by 2025 and increase the use of eco-packaging

(2) To use recycled materials not only in mobile products but also in all home appliances.

Samsung is working with environmental groups to reclaim plastic waste and old fishing nets along the coast as part of a water conservation and reuse waste technology with “OBP – Ocean Bound Plastic” technology on the Galaxy Devices. The Galaxy S22 Series, which was released earlier this year, also used the recycled nylon plastic from old fishing nets inside volume and power button as well as the cover of the S Pen. According to records, Samsung has recovered more than 50 tons of old fishing nets from the sea this year.

In addition, reduce & reuse functions are needed as there are only 0.5 percent of water can be used which is the three percent of freshwater across the world although water accounts for more than two-third of the world. In fact, Samsung used Eco-conscious Water Treatment Technology in Device Solution Division manufacturing facilities and reduced to 10.25 tons and more than 70 million tons of water were reused in 2020.
