OPPO held the 2023 OPPO Developers Conference (ODC23), where it unveiled an upgraded Pantanal cross-platform smart system to benefit developers worldwide and researchers exploring OPPO Health’s open ecosystem, along with AndesGPT — a self-trained, multilingual large language model that will power the new ColorOS 14.
OPPO’s Upgraded Pantanal Cross-Platform Smart System and AndesGPT Power Up ColorOS 14
Since its first release in 2013, OPPO ColorOS has continued to deliver the best smart user experiences, driven by a user-first commitment and sustained technological investment. As one of the first systems built on Android 14, ColorOS 14 introduces the Aquamorphic Design, AI-powered smart features for better performance, advanced proprietary technology for smoother performance, and easy-to-use tools for security and privacy protection. Since ColorOS first launched in 2013, it has grown to serve more than 600 million monthly active users worldwide, making everyday life smoother and smarter for users around the globe.
To mark its 10th anniversary, ColorOS 14 introduces new smart-feature experiences built around OPPO’s Pantanal cross-platform smart system and, for OPPO’s China version, the upgraded self-trained language model AndesGPT.
With Pantanal’s upgraded capabilities, ColorOS 14 will be able to deliver smart travel services in China — from hotel booking and recommendations to hiring a tour guide — while also supporting international travel services.
OPPO’s own proprietary intelligent assistant, Breeno, has been upgraded with AndesGPT’s capabilities. The new Breeno uses more than 400 commonly used system settings to hold more natural, smoother conversations. It can also handle AI content creation, schedule management, and other tasks.
ColorOS 14 Rollout Plan
The ColorOS 14 Global Beta version has been available in select regions since October, and Find N2 Flip users will be the first to receive the official Global Version in those regions.
AndesGPT: Building a Language Model and AI Agent Useful for Everyone
OPPO has officially introduced its self-trained language model, AndesGPT. The tool’s core technical capabilities are enhanced conversation, personalised customisation, and cloud-device collaboration, with core competencies centred on Knowledge, Memory, Tools, and Creation.
OPPO has already formed AI technology partnership agreements with more than 45 major organisations in China and abroad. In the near future, OPPO will launch an AI Agent Open Platform for developers worldwide.
Integrating OPPO’s Software, Hardware, and Services to Support Developers Worldwide in Building a Sustainable Open Ecosystem
As OPPO works with 320,000 developers and 750,000 creators to serve 600 million OPPO users worldwide, it is simultaneously deepening the integration of its software, hardware, and services. In building its ecosystem, OPPO is focusing on partnering with businesses to strengthen its Application services, Content services, and Go-global service capabilities, in order to deliver a smarter, more convenient experience for users.
OPPO’s internet services are creating growth opportunities for application and content developers through improved domestic operations and expanded open-system capabilities. The OPPO App Market provides application services across more than 100 countries and regions, including key markets in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Russia. On the content side, OPPO supports developers with greater operational freedom, richer content formats, and more customisable, accessible ways for users to discover and consume content.
OPPO also announced that, to support developers in building its ecosystem, it will share resources worth RMB 2 billion under its 2024 Gravity Plan. OPPO welcomes more developers to join in shaping this new way of delivering services.
OPPO Health: Health Support for Every User and Family
True to its mission of “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World,” OPPO has expanded into the health space in recent years, developing underlying technologies for fitness, cardiovascular health, and sleep health, gradually paving the way to bring these capabilities into OPPO smartphones, smartwatches, and other products. OPPO also shared its current progress via its Research App, including the Healthy Lifestyle Training Camp, Cognitive Health Research, Cardiovascular Health Research, and an upcoming Sleep Health Research.
At ODC23, OPPO announced the latest upgrades to its proprietary OPPO Sense® Algorithm, which monitors and measures cardiovascular health, fitness, and sleep. The second edition of the cardiovascular fitness algorithm adds badminton and running exercises, enabling more precise posture-tracking analysis for these activities.
As OPPO continues to explore and build its open ecosystem, it hopes to see developers and creators collaborate together, and — building on its foundational technologies and research projects — to become not just a caretaker of health for individual users and families, but a genuine health partner.
